Austrian composer Klaus Lang and the ensemble Golden Fur re-imagine the unusual musical world of the eighteenth century Baptist leader Johann Conrad Beissel. Beissel was devoutly religious, and, coming to the USA from Germany in 1730, founded a Utopian religious community in Pennsylvania, for whom he wrote a huge amount of church music.  He developed his own compositional system which he said was given to him by angels, and which has been described as a very early pre-cursor of serialism.
